Authentise brings ChatGPT capabilities to Additive Manufacturing

Authentise, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, has released 3DGPT, an Artificial Intelligence tool which allows users to interrogate what it refers to as the world's largest collection of Additive Manufacturing knowledge in every-day language.

Users can ask 3DGPT general questions, such as ‘What Additive Manufacturing technologies can print concrete?, to ones as specific as ‘How do I reduce the likelihood of defects when working with stainless steel in powder bed fusion?’ and receive answers rooted in industry knowledge. The answers draw on the knowledge contained in journal articles and standards, as well as the general knowledge on which OpenAI's ChatGPT is built. Unique to 3DGPT, however, is the ability to provide references for its technical answers, enabling users to check their veracity.

Innovate UK supported the development of 3D GPT through the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)'s Scalable AM Rule Creation & Dissemination project. Authentise will release 3DGPT at the Smart Factory Expo, part of Manufacturing + Engineering Week in Birmingham, UK, held in conjunction with TCT360 on June 7-8, 2023.
